I had auto insurance through Farm Bureau for 4 years. I liked my original agent and was impressed with the coverage, price, and small-town feel. I set up my payments monthly via autopay. After I received a new card, I updated my autopay info, received a confirmation of the change, and continued making payments, being charged different amounts each time.
Nearly 2 months after updating my card, I received a notice from the state that my vehicles registration would be suspended for a lapse in liability coverage. Shocked and confused, I reached out for an explanation - surely there must be a mistake!
Apparently, my policy was canceled the same day I updated my payment information, then I was charged the next month as usual. Completely unaware of any issues, I continued about my business. I NEVER RECEIVED A NOTICE OF CANCELATION. I had no idea they canceled it.
When I pushed for answers, Amanda and David were unsympathetic and patronizing over the phone, but they were more than happy to reinstate me at a much higher rate.
Long story short, your continued loyalty is worthless. If they are willing to put peoples wellbeing on the line, they cant be trusted to stand up for their customers. I couldve lost my car, my job, and my freedom because of their negligence. Are these the people you want to count on when you need them most?
