I was with Erica Hill’s Allstate agency for over two years, insuring four vehicles, our home, boat, and ATV. When I received notice that our homeowners policy was up for renewal, I did what any responsible policyholder should do—I began comparing quotes.
In doing so, I discovered that our boat was not properly covered for the correct replacement value. Thankfully, nothing happened during that time, but it was a serious oversight. I also found that we were significantly overpaying for our auto insurance.
I reached out to Erica’s office several times by phone and email to discuss this and give her the opportunity to review our policies and re-quote before I made any changes. I called at least five times, emailed multiple times, and even spoke with Joyce in the office, who could never provide answers—only promises that messages were passed along. Unfortunately, Erica never returned a single call or email during this time.
When I ultimately made the decision to switch agencies, I sent a final email asking for confirmation that my cancellation notice had been received. The only response I received from Erica was a curt message telling me to refrain from multiple emails and that they would process cancellations in the order received. This response, after weeks of being ignored, felt unprofessional and dismissive.
Customer service should not end the moment you start asking questions or exploring options. I expected better from an agency that handled such a large portion of our insurance needs. I would not recommend this agency based on my experience.
