2 /5 RnR77: Terrible. I will say that the people who work in the branches are professional and personable. However, many who work customer service on the phones are not and some dont even seem to know their jobs. DEI hires?
Also, some that I have talked to have a condescending tone and act like I should be grateful that they are even talking to me.
I was initially approved for a HELOC. Im retired, own two properties, have a substantial nest egg, with income from 4 sources. Also, an 800+ credit rating. However, upon "review" from the underwriters, was denied the loan. Getting someone to respond to me so I could get some more info was like pulling teeth. Once I did, the people I spoke to treated me like I had some nerve even applying.
My problem with these underwriters is they are strictly black and white, whatever their stringent guidelines are, thats what they adhere to. No consideration for your personal (outstanding) situation, more like they didnt want to be bothered as it would entail going through additional hoops to approve.
Steer clear of SCCU. Theres a reason for their average 3.5 rating. 2 stars from me because of the close convenience and a few good associates.
