Shepherd Insurance - Sarasota (FL)

1 /5 Vicki Klein: This company was originally Purmort insurance company. Shepard took it over several years ago. We used Purmort for over 30 years for all our insurance needs; two cars, home, office. Service was excellent. Once Shepard took over it has been nothing but a disaster. They just let our home insurance expire April 1. We found out when our bank called us asking for proof of our homeowners insurance. Shepard never told us we had to reapply every year for our insurance coverage . When we called them their excuse was a turnover in personnel. They also have never sent us our new car insurance card. Oh, they had let that coverage expire too because they did not respond to a request for information made by our car insurance company. Needless to say we will be looking for a new company and will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. For them to claim they have been in business for 35 years is not true. The business was Purmort insurance company 35 years ago!

1 /5 Todd Stuart: This is BY FAR the worst agency we’ve ever dealt with. They let coverage(s) lapse, switched agent of record without notification and now are attempting to provide insurance that isn’t needed or required. Our agent of record has been useless and I can’t wait to move on

5 /5 Aspen 665: Lindsey is a first class insurance professional and an even better person. She is knowledgeable, professional, and a true joy to work with. She guided us through the maze of Florida homeowners insurance and got us covered fully and without any issues. My highest regards to such a wonderful person who not only knows the intricacies of the insurance business but also truly cares about her customers. I would give her 10 stars out of 5 if I could.

5 /5 Royce Zynda: I have had an excellent experience EVERY time that I have to contact them. Ive been a customer for a little over a year. From initially setting up my homeowners policy, to questions about adding on pet policies, to assisting in payment methods, they have always been incredibly positive, helpful, courteous and FAST!!! Any time Ive needed anything done, it was done immediately AND I would receive follow up calls or emails to let me know everything was taken care of. Ive never had such an experience with an insurance company, but Al Purmorts staff is absolutely wonderful. Thank you!

1 /5 Awilda O.: Terrible! Terrible!! Terrible!!! We recently moved to Florida and were referred to Al Purmort by our former agent/broker. After they no-called to a phone meeting they originally scheduled, and failed to respond to three separate follow ups requesting a quote, they finally responded with a quote ten days later. By then, we had already secured auto and home insurance through another agency with a different insurance company who offered the same amount of coverage at 2/3 of the cost. I highly recommend going elsewhere for your insurance needs.
