When I was shopping, my boyfriend stumbled upon this place and surprised me by getting my ring reshaped from its very smooshed oval shape back into a circle. He was chatting with Leonard about his projects, and having a good time distracting him from getting his work done, Im sure, but Leonard was very nice and answered all of his questions. He told us how he makes jewelry and about his different tools, which was fun to learn about.
While we were there, Leonard pointed out how delicate my ring had become over the years of wear. It was very thin and starting to separate in places, so reshaping it was tricky. He showed me under a microscope where the ring was worn down.
My dad got me the ring in Mexico on my 16th birthday, and Ive worn it everyday since then. Im in my 30s now, for reference...its been on my hand for over than half of my life. My dad passed away, so I need this ring to last.
I asked if he could fix it, and he did me one better: he said he could make a mold of it and create a copy, but make it a bit thicker so it would last longer. That way, I can put my prized ring somewhere safe, but still have one to wear without worrying about it breaking.
I just got the new ring back today, and its absolutely perfect! Did I tear up when I opened it? Maybe....
