1 /5 allyson saravia: I rarely ever leave reviews, whether good or bad, so for me to write this, you know I’m extremely upset. I contacted this insurance agency based on strong recommendations and positive reviews. Unfortunately, my experience has been the opposite.
From the very first call, things felt off. The representative I spoke with, Lori, was short and impatient with my questions. I’m 20 years old and new to all of this, so naturally, I had a lot to ask. One of the main things I confirmed with her multiple times was whether having insurance starting in December (rather than earlier) would still qualify me for a prior insurance discount on my new policy. She assured me repeatedly that it would be fine and I had nothing to worry about.
Fast forward to July—just two months after starting my policy in May—and my monthly premium is going up by $160. That’s not a total increase—thats every month.
When I called to ask why, Lori asked if I had submitted my proof of prior insurance. I told her yes. Then she checked and suddenly said, “Oh, you would have needed your policy to start in November.” I reminded her that she told me December was fine. She just kept saying, “Let me check,” then changed the topic to me not being enrolled in paperless billing. When I asked if that was the reason for such a big jump in my premium, she literally said, “Umm... I’m not sure.”
How are you selling policies and not sure about how they work? Her lack of clarity and misinformation is now costing me an extra $160 a month. I even tried reaching out to the insurance company (Bristol), but this issue wasn’t on them—it was the agent’s misinformation from the beginning.
When I expressed my frustration on the phone, Lori had a very dismissive tone and just said, There’s nothing I can do basically. No accountability, no real help—just cold indifference.
To make matters worse, I now can’t even get a new policy elsewhere because I don’t meet the 6-month continuous coverage requirement—all because she misinformed me.
If you choose this agency, do yourself a favor and ask for anyone except Lori. I truly feel like she was just trying to close a sale and move on, without taking the time to give me the correct information.
