He was very upfront in describing his approach to investing from our first meeting so as to set proper expectations. Hes not trying to chase the next big thing when he invests. He really digs into individual companies and takes a close look at their pros and cons before deciding if they offer value at a given point in time. In the coming decade, I think this will really bear even more fruit as we are likely facing a stagnant overall stock market where there will be winners, but definitely more losers and where the skill to pick individual stocks will really help Earl shine.
Ive always been confident that first and foremost, Earl will protect my capital above all else. But he will also not hesitate to buy when the time and price is right.
Its also important that someone has skin in the game and Earls own portfolio mirrors his clients to a large degree as well. In this industry, there are too many advisers and banks that lack accountability so this is much appreciated from my end and adds to the level of trust.
All in all, Ive been very happy and impressed.
