I was visiting the U.S. as a tourist from Europe when I got a traffic citation in California — allegedly driving over 100 mph. It was a serious ticket, and honestly, I wasn’t even sure if I was going that fast. It really stressed me out and I had no idea what to do. I actually had a difficult case as I was working for the government using my personal vehicle when the accident occurred. Since, it happened on private property and it was a personal party’s fault, I could not be seen for my medical needs under workman’s comp. This held up some of my medical care.
