1 /5 Emily S: the girls working at san diego pride were unfriendly. while i looked through the jewelry, i was stared at and felt pressured to pick quickly, as if i was blocking potential customers from looking. when i sat down, the girl who welded the jewelry acted like she’d rather be doing anything else and wanted it to be done asap. she didn’t care to let me see or talk about my options for sizing (how loose/tight). while this was happening, the girl next to her was staring at me judgmentally and didn’t say a word. so, i tipped poorly, but i still tipped. i imagine they thought i was a bad tipper, but i usually tip at least 20%, even if someone’s just opening a bottle for me, so my low tip was a statement. i’ve gotten permanent jewelry before, so i know how good of an experience it can be if you have a friendly linker. this experience made me extra grateful for the kind link x lou linker i have back home.
tldr—if they wouldn’t have made me feel rushed, judged, and unwelcome, i would’ve bought more jewelry and tipped at least 20%. definitely an uncomfortable and unpleasant experience, which sucked bc i love my bracelet!
