1 /5 Marie B: While shopping in the store this afternoon, I was appalled to witness the horrific, accusatory and insulting customer service. A young lady and her colleagues were browsing the store as two of the store reps were standing near them. Suddenly, a young girl (employee) began yelling at the customer (in front of everyone in the store) accusing her of stealing a very inexpensive ring because the customer had reached into her pocket to get her phone to text her mother. The employee who was obviously in the wrong continued to yell and berate the customer, which was extremely uncomfortable for everyone in the store and unprofessional. To clear up the accusations of theft, the customer emptied all belongings from her pockets and then showed the employee her text message she sent to her mother. While raising her voice, the employee then showed the customer video surveillance of her reaching into her pocket getting her cell phone and continued to falsely accuse the customer of stealing. The level of unprofessionalism with the store employee and poor customer service was very disconcerting. What was more troubling, was watching the other employees do nothing. They stood by silently as this immature and rude employee humiliated a customer who was simply texting her mother.
Needless to say, I set down my items and left the store. I have no intention of ever returning to a store that appeared to racially profile a customer and had no regard for the other customers shopping experience.
