Darcy Grinolds Best jeweler Ive found: honest, informative, justified prices. I needed my ring repaired after the diamond fell out. I checked with several jewelers about the cost of replacement. Preziosis price was slightly higher, but I wanted to work with him because he seemed honest, so I told him about the lower quote from another jeweler. He explained to me the two different types of repairs for my rings prongs (simple gold solder and full prong buildup) and the relative costs for each (less than a hundred dollars for the simple gold solder). He hypothesized that the other jeweler was charging a slightly lower price for a much lower quality solution. Once I learned about these methods and their pros/cons, it was clear to me that the simple gold solder would be a fragile, short-term solution. I went back to the lower-quote jeweler and asked about their repair methods and they confirmed they would do a simple gold solder. This made Preziosis price for the full prong buildup drastically the better value and correct solution for my needs. I was grateful for the explanation of the techniques at Preziosi, and I even got to learn how to use the magnifier to see the final result! Ill definitely be returning to Preziosi for any jewelry needs!

Debbie Chou We found a ring design online that we really liked, but it wasn’t available in platinum. Design Jewelers was able to make custom rings in platinum for us — and we love the result! They were also able to accommodate our timeline and finished the rings in just one week, which we really appreciated. One suggestion for others making custom rings: provide as many details as possible up front. We had envisioned a mirror-polished finish, but the reference we sent actually had a matte look. Our rings were made with a matte finish initially, but when we realized the mismatch, Design Jewelers kindly polished them for us at no extra charge (even with engravings inside the rings) — and we were able to pick them up the very next day! Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely recommend them for custom wedding rings!

Nicole Robledo Montoya is amazing to work with! We came to them with an idea and they helped us design a beautiful set of wedding bands, even fitting it perfectly with the engagement ring. A couple of months before the wedding, the center stone chipped in the engagement ring, and Montoya worked with us and our insurance to find a replacement and get it set in time. The new stone is so perfect, and our rings turned out even better than we imagined. Mary Lundberg This store is the mecca for vintage jewelry! There’s a wide assortment of sterling silver, estate and beautiful costume jewelry. The prices are fair and reasonable. It’s a collective, with six ladies, each with their own style of offerings! They are always friendly and helpful in finding the right gift or treat to myself. Lots of pictures and decorative vintage items as well. Best shop in downtown Santa Cruz by far!!
