1 /5 Oscar Maltez: I had a terrible experience with Fiesta Insurance. The staff was extremely rude and unprofessional throughout the entire process. I chose not to renew my auto insurance policy after the 6-month term ended, and they tried to charge me $150 just for removing the automatic payments from my account.
Let me be clear: this is completely illegal in the state of California. Insurance agencies are not allowed to impose cancellation or administrative fees just because you choose not to renew a policy. Consumers have the legal right to opt out of automatic payments and to shop for other coverage without being penalized.
Trying to trap customers with unjustified fees is unethical and feels like a scam. I would not recommend doing business with Fiesta Insurance. If this has happened to you, I suggest reporting them to the California Department of Insurance immediately.
