I had her waiting multiple times and she even explained to my husband over a 3 way phone call the details of the policy. She ran numbers multiple times. Alex Perry Pulled over near the light on East Santa Clara and 5th, just blocks from San Jose State — I thought it was just expired tags. Turns out I didn’t have valid insurance and I didn’t even realize that could trigger a whole SR22 situation. First car, first time being this deep into adult stuff, and I was shook. I walked into SLPE two days later still a little embarrassed, but the lady up front literally said, ‘Breathe. We’ll get you fixed up.’ She helped me get same-day SR22 insurance and filed everything with the DMV while I was still sitting there. The monthly SR22 premium wasn’t nearly as bad as I feared — actually fit my budget. I walked out feeling protected, not punished. Saved their number in case any of my friends mess up like I did.
