1 /5 John Shoosmith: This attorney was out of town and unavailable 17 out of 24 full weeks, and did not make known to me many of the weeks when she was away. I was left alone, in court TWICE , in front of the judge, because she said, in court, that she had to run to other hearings. Was it really that she was unprepared? The pay scheme was a flat rate including trial fees, but guess what - trial is the last thing she intends to do! The flat fee with trial costs included is not only something youre not supposed to do as an attorney, its a scam. She got key people completely mixed up and never reviewed anything with me in detail. I had to fire her and got a different attorney out of town to get any forward traction at all. Had I not, Im sure I would have just been run through with initial charges. I must honestly say, she did more harm than good.

Karen is helping me to be strong & develop a "backbone" after I have had a hard time processing my divorce on the tail of a 34 year relationship. I love this east coast gal and am excited to stand up for myself & move forward.

1 /5 Andres Guillen-Givins: Ive hired Karen twice in two different matters. Each time she missed court appearances. It is extremely unprofessional and disrespectful especially for the high amount I have paid her. I thought the first time it must have just been a fluke. I should not have hired again. I highly advise anyone seeking legal counsel to take my experience into consideration. Its very nerve racking to appear in court and your lawyer is no where to be found.

5 /5 Dave Liston: When my divorce began, I called every attorney in the area. The attorneys typically said one of two things: Retain Karen Unger. If your spouse retains Karen Unger, I will not represent you in the case. Shes feisty and wants to win. There are other comments saying she didnt show for hearings, but she was always there during the full year it took to finalize the divorce. And there were A LOT of hearings. In the end, I won and I didnt have to talk to my ex once during the year it took to finalize. Yes, shes blunt but she has a heavy case load and just wants to get to the point - which means lower attorney costs. She isnt going to talk for an hour just to bill you for an hour. Highly recommend. Shes a character and needs to be emulated in a movie.

They call me to remind me when I am required to be on a Zoom conference call with a judge. I absolutely recommend Ms. Unger and am so thankful that I have her representing me. Thank you so much.
