1 /5 Katie: It’s understandable to not want to rate a debt collector highly. My one star review is not for the fact that I don’t like the business they conduct, but rather that I think they’re an unprofessional company. I participated in the mediation process with their representative who was sitting in a dark room, barely visible on camera, wearing a t-shirt, flat bill cap, and a gaming headset for the call. I found this offensive and unprofessional. It was clear that I was simply interrupting this persons chill afternoon. I am a hard working honest person who pays their bills and was participating in the mediation process in good faith. As a professional myself, I expect businesses and their representatives to conduct themselves with professionalism. They were 5 minutes late to our 8:30am court appearance. They also did not provide labeled evidence to me and brought hand labeled poorly organized evidence to court, after the start time, for me to review in 90 seconds before trial started. By being overly casual and underprepared, they were clearly communicating that they didn’t respect the courts, me or maybe even themselves. I think it was worth going to court and paying the prevailing party fee just to drag their staff out of their basement, force them to bathe and put on a collared shirt and take off the hat. If you’re going to try to scam me out of my hard earned money, you can get out of your pajamas to do it.
