1 /5 Justin Young: Hiring James Tisdale was one of the biggest mistakes I made during my divorce. I retained him to represent me in a high-conflict case, and from the start, there were red flags — poor communication, delays, and what appeared to be a lack of genuine advocacy on my behalf.
For example, after he officially withdrew from my case in March 2025, he continued to bill me for communications and administrative tasks — some of which never occurred. It wasnt until I challenged the invoice that over $1,200 in charges were suddenly removed, without explanation. That alone raises serious questions about the accuracy and honesty of his billing practices.
More troubling, he failed to provide critical case materials, including emails with opposing counsel that I specifically and repeatedly requested in writing, over the phone, and in person. These communications were my legal property under Texas Disciplinary Rule 1.15(d), and yet I was never given full access to them.
On top of that, Mr. Tisdale made damaging statements in official correspondence — including suggesting I had anger issues — despite missing a potential court notice requesting a psychological evaluation. His oversight and lack of diligence could have caused serious harm to my case.
I would not recommend James Tisdale to anyone seeking competent, ethical, and responsive legal representation. Proceed with caution.
