1 /5 Amanda Spencer: A huge waste of time and effort!
My husband and I have owned two homes and now are ready to own land. Most people know that requesting a land loan can be difficult but there are many options to consider and many WHAT-IF scenarios on how to make the loan work. We partnered with Anthony Kasper Vice President of lending at this Greenville Branch and the entire conversation felt strained. He had no interest talking to us about the land or how to make it work. At one point a said to him it felt as if he was plugging numbers into a machine and repeating what it said. His only two suggestions where that I need to go back to work instead of having my own business (my husband works full time). Or get someone to co-sign for us. We attempted the co-sign route and was also rejected, my family member had the same feeling that he wasnt trying to make this loan work. All in all we spent 3 weeks with this guy constantly calling him and asking HIM what more we could do, I was 75% convinced that his word was the end of the road for us but after contacting another bank 3hrs from us in Paris, Tx ( Texas Farm Credit), they did admit we had to move some things around but within 24hrs we were pre-approved. We are so lucky that in that 3 weeks of being jerked around the land did not sell.
