1 /5 Autumn Cool: Monica was supposedly our agent for over a year, but we never once saw, spoke to, or heard from her in any form. She never returned emails, phone calls, or direct messages through the State Farm app. The office phones were completely broken for several months last summer and would just ring and ring endlessly. Recently, I got a "youve called outside of normal business hours" message, even though I called at 10:30 am on a Tuesday!
For the first few months her husband, Curtis, did a decent job filling in, but he has become less and less responsive and helpful. It took multiple phone calls and several months for him to make me a joint account holder. When we bought a house, he told us that our old renters insurance would automatically cancel when our homeowners insurance kicked in, and that wed get a prorated refund for the unused part of the renters insurance. This did not happen - two months later, we were still paying renters insurance. I emailed (their phones still didnt work) and it was finally cancelled, but I suspect that was just because the 1-year plan naturally ended and they didnt actually do anything. They ignored multiple follow-ups asking about the promised refund.
Most recently, Monica and Curtis have ignored multiple requests submitted over the last two weeks to update our vehicle addresses and change out a vehicle. They were supposed to update every address on our account to our new home address last summer, and we only just noticed that they didnt update the vehicles. More broken promises! I submitted these changes through the official State Farm website but the agent has to process them, and they never did. They also ignored a follow-up email. We finally threw up our hands and switched agents. Guess what, the new agent applied all the requested updates immediately!
