2 /5 Jason Elm: I used 3rd party insurance broker when my driving record was horrible. They repeatedly changed companies on me. I would call for a manual payment (since they would not offer a 6 month policy with auto-payment option), only to be informed that they had switched to another random new insurance agent. I obtained S-22 insurance almost two years ago as well (due to my own past negligence). It was never clearly examined to me that SR-22 is not in ANY WAY a liability insurance policy. It is simply a antiquated way for the state of Texas to place further financial burdens on economically disadvantaged people.
I called to inquire about my last month of SR-22, at which point I was informed that I did not have liability insurance. I could have wrecked my truck and been prosecuted or held liable for all damages and medical bills due to this negligent company.
The insurance broker agent I spoke with told me that she would gather some quotes and call me back. It has been several days and I never heard back from anyone.
Unless you have a deplorable driving record (or you have no ID, SSN, or legal residency/citizenship), DONT GO HERE.
