I see a lot of negative comments about money on this thread, but I was never hassled for payment, nor was I billed aggressively. Her communication style was consistent and predictable, which allowed me to stay ahead by prepping responses with help from AI tools. Response times were… generous—often taking weeks—so there was always ample time to prepare. Also worth noting: she still uses an aol.com email address, which felt like a charming nod to simpler times. It reminded me of using a rotary phone, or trying to start a vintage station wagon. If you’re hoping for a process that keeps your soon-to-be ex satisfied, Carol may be a great fit. I appreciated the clarity she brought to the table—and what she left behind. Thank you, Carol.

5 /5 Bonnie Holt: I retained Carol Prater for my high conflict divorce in 2020. She was worth every penny. She was very responsive with email and surprisingly available by phone during crisis. She was upfront and honest on specific situations she did not tell me what I wanted to hear but what the best options and outcomes were so I could make the best choices. I retained Elizabeth Llamas for my high conflict custody case in 2022. She was very informative in the process and what to expect during each stage. Anxiety was high and I panicked a lot! She would explain things and bring me back down. She stood up for me when needed to other lawyers and counselors involved in our case. She was busy but was responsive by email and I could set appointments easily by phone which is how I requested. I have read many complaints but their services are in high demand. Their time is limited they try to use it very efficiently. So if you’re feelings are hurt because they didn’t pamper or wipe your butt get over it. You are paying for their expertise, guidance and advise during a highly stressful time. Sometimes you do not want to hear what is being said and it’s hard to own your own crap but that isn’t on these lawyers. Their honestly was refreshing. They didn’t lead me down rabbit holes to spend more money. They listened to my concerns and intended outcomes then provided what I was paying for their expert advice. I spent around $37,000 total for the entire process between legal fees, court costs, counseling costs, etc but to protect myself and child, to feel supported and understood during the process it was worth every penny. Conflict is costly but for those of us that have no other options these ladies were definitely the best choice and I recommend them to anyone that ever asks. I did not feel like their cost was much more than other lawyers with lower reputations. My situation was high conflict if it wasn’t I could have used someone a little cheaper but piece of mind and experience is what I paid for.

The communication was impecable, they responded to emails, phone calls, and face to face communication expeditiously. If I have the need for future council I know who Im calling.
