1 /5 Joselin Jennings: Yesterday, I received an unsettling call from a woman named Rihanna at this office, who was attempting to reach someone else. Her demeanor was quite rude and unprofessional; she even questioned whether I was lying about the persons absence or if I was simply too lazy to check their availability. I strongly advise against engaging with a business that demonstrates such poor customer service. If youre having a difficult day, its important not to project that onto others. I would highly recommend seeking assistance from a different CPA office.

1 /5 Courtney Nicholson: If you are looking for a CPA or are currently using this CPA, please read my full review if you want to make sure you do not end up owing the IRS thousands of dollars. My husband and I started to use this CPA in 2022 to file our taxes after I bought into a business. In 2022, the customer service was lacking as they would only contact my husband for information even though they primarily needed documents from me and I was supposed to be the primary contact. This lack of communication made taxes very difficult to file. In 2023, we decided to give them another try and this is were I warn you against using this CPA firm. The communication was worse than the year before. We gave them our information they needed and it took months to get our taxes filed. For my business, I always need extensions filed and we could never get them on the phone to confirm if this happened or not. I could never actually get McDonnell to contact me about my issues as he was supposed to be the person filing my taxes. Because I could not get them on the phone for weeks at a time, I googled their practice and found that McDonnell is indicted in a huge tax scheme in Dallas which explains the disorganization last year at the firm. Finally in October of 2023, we have our taxes filed as it was too late to change after finding out about his indictment and this firm showed that I owed the IRS almost $13, 000. Looking at my tax documents I found that they did not add any medical or donation receipts and filed under my previous address although we had notified them of our move. They also filed my business taxes incorrectly causing me to owe thousands of dollars. At this point, I decided to find another CPA and have my taxes amended in which they found that this CPA filed my taxes incorrectly. It turns out that instead of owing almost $13,000, I should have gotten a $2,000 tax return and am getting refunded $15,000 from the IRS. I am so thankful to have found a different trustworthy firm and do NOT recommend this practice.

5 /5 A Jones: Jim Richardson has been my CPA for the past 3 years. He helped me through a sales tax audit and does a great job keeping my taxes straight with 3 businesses, a trust and personal. So glad I found a CPA that is in my hometown that listens and meets my needs.

1 /5 Beth Holliday: Horrible customer service!!!!!!! My Husband and I meet with a CPA with this company with the intentions of setting up a long term working relationship. We provided information that was requested from us, and 2 weeks later we had to reach out for status of our tax return. During this call we were informed by staff answering phone that an extension would be filed for us, yet that had not been discussed with us. Filing extension is a common practice for them as I understand. I clearly communicated that we did not want this done on our behalf, and we could pick up our forms if their workload would prevent them from providing the service we needed. I was advised they could provide the service before the filing deadline. Fast forward 2 weeks, and an extension was filed for us. My Husband in this time frame presented in person to speak with the CPA, and was advised all details were handled. Yet, that was not the case. Upon final follow up, I was advised that they "expedited" our return. Frustrated does not describe my experience with this business in the least . I will not utilize this business in the future, and hope that they change their practices. Communication with the PAYING CUSTOMER is essential. My advise to this company is that a person who is paying for your service, you are not doing "a favor" by providing the service that is being paid for. Zero stars! Dennis and Beth Guilliams

1 /5 John P: This was by far the most terrible experience I’ve ever had with an accounting or tax prep firm in my life.. AVOID! They are dishonest and seemingly corrupt. Kevin McDonnell proved over and over again how dishonest, selfish, and unprofessional he is. Not only did he lie to me multiple times regarding payment arrangement, the PPP loan application process, and the mailing of my PAID IN FULL two years of tax amendments, but he and his firm ignored me for so long that I evidently missed the opportunity to apply for the PPP loan which was the PRIMARY reason why I contacted them to begin with (this was clearly communicated to them). All they did was give me false hope, lie to me, overcharge me, ignore me, and then held my second amendment ransom until I paid them for the shipping of my amendment for A SECOND TIME because they somehow lost the first copy in the mail and instead of them apologizing and resending another one after I cordially informed them that it had been two weeks and still no amendment delivered, they made me wait three more weeks before they demanded that I pay overnight shipping AGAIN or I would not get my amendment at all. Because of McDonnell-Richardson CPA, it looks like I will not be able to apply for the PPP loan after all that I very very much needed which might lead to my business going bankrupt, I still don’t have my two very simplified amendments (1040) even though they have been paid in full for nearly two months now and very OVER-PRICED ($735), and I have been trying to call them to pay their overnight shipping fee to finally get my second amendment, but they ignore my phone calls. I try emailing Kevin, and he ignores me… I try emailing other staff members, and they ignore me. I made it very clear to Kevin that COVID-19 was the sole reason money is extremely tight for me right now, and he acted like he was empathetic and allowed me a special payment arrangement and guaranteed my amendments would be delivered to the IRS and I trusted him, but sure enough, he lied to me about ALL of it. He lied to me about the payment arrangement, and he lied to me about my amendments been delivered to the IRS. I told him upfront that if I need to sign the documents, I will come in and sign them in person so that they can mail them DIRECTLY TO THE IRS, but instead they mailed them directly to ME and evidently mistyped my address as well as the return address because the second amendment is now nowhere to be found… No trace of it whatsoever, and Kevin actively refuses to send me another copy unless I pay for his very expensive overnight shipping even though he and his firm were clearly 100% at fault for all of this. Still Kevin ignores me, still has not apologized, and when I told him I was going to write a review about my utter disappointment with the low quality performance of his firm, he threatened to sue me for defamation. He said he would sue me “swiftly and severely” [or some other threatening/alarming phrase of similar nature] IF I wrote a review about the many shortcomings of him and his firm. Luckily, I know this is NOT defamation but my Right of Free Speech since everything I have stated within this review is absolutely 100% truth with evidence to back it up. To my knowledge, NOTHING I have stated in this review is false. Everything I have stated is ONLY a fair warning for potential customers who might be considering this firm; I have written this review solely for the purpose of WARNING YOU to go elsewhere before you regret it! So Kevin, your threats will go nowhere with me, and now the public knows who you really are. May God be with you and your firm, and I will continue to pray that you guys eventually come around.. I have more reviews to write for each staff member that I had an awful experience with at your firm, so I have a few more to write once time permits… But who knows, maybe my prayers will be answered sooner than later, and I’ll have nothing but positive things to say about these people in my next reviews; it’s all in their hands. All I humbly ask is that they do what is right.
