Galveston County Tax Collector - Texas City (TX)

1 /5 Hungry Sparrow: Its no secret county buildings closed at noon with this in mind I rushed my entire morning to get a registration sticker. I want to get there with time to actually get the sticker to not hold everybody up I arrived about 15 minutes before the closing. The doors were already shut, locked and all of the blinds drawn. This is a county building they should not close down as the public has an expectation for you to serve within the hours mandated by the county. However I was not the only person to be affected by this there were other citizens arriving frustrated with their county. As the hours for arbitrarily changed with no warning or even a note on the door. This is not the only experience that was below expectations I have been before and the card readers were not working and I could not get my registration sticker. I was told to go to a gas station ATM and pull out cash and then return. The citizens deserve better.

2 /5 Syed Hussain: they have outsourced the tax foreclosure auction to another company . all together 10-15 properties they cannot hold an auction with so many employees.

1 /5 Aaron Brooks: This office is absolutely terrible. Called to get my Disabled Veteran plates and they tell me to follow the steps online, to include a VTR-615 for the handicap sign. I schedule my dr appointment and have them fill out the form. I call after my appointment to get in to do the registration and they tell me that form doesnt work and I need an actual prescription.....now I have to schedule Dr appointment, and wait for that just get a vehicle registered with the correct plates that TEXAS requires me to have within 30 days of moving. Absolutely terrible.

5 /5 D G: I moved to Texas City 10 years ago and done all my vehicle registration and title transfers myself over 20 years and this place is by far the best and fastest place Ive been to in over 20 years I promise Im never in there no more then 15 20 minutes and Im walking out with my fresh paperwork on my hands guaranteed. The staff there is always helpful with you and your paperwork and will help you correct any mistakes on the spot so you wont have to leave empty handed unlike in Houston they will tell you that you didnt do something right and dismiss you and say next calling on the next person leaving you clueless on what to do next and you will have to go figure out whats wrong on your own but their nothing like that here in Texas City their very helpful and patient as well
