First Financial Bank - College Station

Kimberly Vickery Everyone is so very kind and helpful. Only issue Ive ever had was with Radele today on the phone when she repeatedly spoke to me as if was too ignorant to have an intelligent conversation. I needed one transaction approved instead of my entire card limit being increased but apparently that cant be done with this bank. Talking to people as though you think youre superior in some way shows a lot about a persons character and theres really no place for that kind of attitude in customer service.

Echelon Financial - Austin

Hollis Parker I am writing to let you know how happy I am with your staff and the service I have received in the short time I have been working closely with you. Everything is easy to accomplish with Echelon. It is quick, electronic, and safe. Chris, you are responsive, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to and understand. You have made this transition for me so much less stressful. Kelly is friendly and easy to work with and was so helpful when I scheduled a trip to Austin to meet everyone. Kyle provided a tax return experience like Ive never seen. All electronic, very quick, very easy! I received an email receipt confirmation from the IRS very shortly after I submitted all the documentation for my return to Kyle. Thank you to you and your staff for taking such good care of me. I truly appreciate it. Ive got my seatbelt on and I am ready to stay the course. Thank you Hollis!

Northwestern Mutual - Frisco - Frisco

Leslie Opurum Worth the read. I’ll start by saying I rarely write reviews unless my experience is extremely good, or extremely bad- in this case it’s the latter. Our financial advisor “advised” us for a little over 2 years and we trusted him completely. To the point we had both term AND whole life accounts and poured loads of money into both. After doing more research, having a baby, and understanding what better fit OUR needs, my husband and I decided to cancel our Whole Life insurance and only keep the Term Life. During this meeting, our advisor Julian kept stating that “I hope you guys don’t think I advised you wrongly or in a way for myself to profit all this time..” we told him we didn’t feel that way. We just have a new perspective and can optimize our finances better another way. I should have taken his nerves I sensed during this meeting as a red flag- he absolutely was advising us in a way that profited him the most all this time. Well, we ended the meeting with the plan to cancel our Whole Life insurance, and in the most dramatic way, JULIAN (our advisor) immediately stopped answering our calls. We thought it was odd that his phone stopped ringing and just went straight to voicemail. After using two other friends’ phones and it magically ringing, we realized he literally BLOCKED us. That’s right, immediately after switching our accounts to Term Life insurance and ending the meeting feeling accomplished (on our end), he left the meeting only to block us- his clients of over 2 years. My husband and I have now received a letter stating he sees he will “never be able to meet our needs.” Interesting. He also wasn’t shy to admit “it doesn’t seem fair to me to keep your account on that basis, so I am resigning it.” You know.. what people say about some of these companies is true I realize. They will line their pockets as long as they can and sell you what is most lucrative for THEM. The second we switched to a less lucrative life insurance for our agent, boom.. he fires us as clients. Bravo, you truly cannot make this up. I am beyond disappointed in this organization, mostly Julian, who we shared intimate details about our life with and who seemed genuinely happy for us to build our first home, give birth to our first child, buy cars etc. He dropped us the second it didn’t make his portfolio more shiny. Lesson learned. He will never get our business again, and I will be sure to warn our vast group of other successful colleagues in the metroplex. I will also note: We would always meet at a Panera bread. He would talk loudly about our finances, which I found extremely unprofessional. I planned to discuss this with him at our next meeting- but that never happened since, you know, he resigned our account. But a young lady approached me after our last meeting and, blushing, said “wow you and your husband seem to do really well for yourselves!” Needless to say I would give ZERO stars if I could. Stay far far away from this organization. They will sell you Whole Life insurance or refuse to take you as a client. (I know this because one of my best friends told me last year they sought out business with her after seeing her income, then turned her down as a client when she would only open a Term Life account). So unprofessional and not FOR the client. To the agent we worked with, good luck. You don’t treat good people this way. The least you could have done is find the RESPECT and decency to call us and communicate your needs effectively. You are self-serving ONLY. So glad we are parting ways, this only confirmed my instincts were correct. Good riddance.

Orchard Financial Group - Austin

Briana Rose Finances can be so overwhelming. When my wife and I got married, it was hard to figure out where to start to combine our finances. We had goals, little control/sight on finances, and a ton of questions on how to be strategic with our funds. Leah is so incredibly easy to talk to and lays everything out in an easy-to-digest manner. She figures out what is important to you/your family and approaches everything through that lens, while also giving her professional input on what we should consider and implement. Everything has smart reasoning, timeline, and she can make adjustments when life just happens. She is also good at "tough love". She will point out when something we are doing is impacting our own goals and ways we can fix it or other buckets we can pull from. When we feel truly discouraged, she is able to pull up data via the 5 year plan that shows we really are not in as bad as shape as we feel. 10/10 recommend!
