AmeriServ Financial Bank - Johnstown (PA)

1 /5 L Arn: I called Ameriserv to see if there would be any charges or fees if i had my IRA cd that was maturing transferred to a different financial institution and also explained that the other bank would be sending the request to them. They said there would be no fees or charges as long as this was done during the grace period. They lied because when my money got to my new bank it was $50 short. I called to see why this was and they said because I didn’t come into the bank and make the withdrawal myself this is what they charge. The woman i talked to said she would talk to her manager and get back to me. She did and said the manager said that when i opened the account i was given paperwork that explained this fee. I don’t have the paperwork so that is why i called them. This didn’t matter but they said if i want to transfer my other IRA CD at its maturity they won’t charge me anything knowing full well that this CD will be cashed in before the maturity date in 2030. If you don’t want to be lied to stay away from Ameriserv.

5 /5 Kenneth Byington: Never had any major issues. I deal with this bank on a professional basis threw my job. I havent dealt with them on a personal level yet. My mother on the other hand has. She hasnt had any issues on her personal acct. Everyone seems very nice and pleasant. So business or personal, I say 5 Stars is correct. Keep up the good work. Sometimes no news is good news. ;)
