1 /5 Nessa: This business is the epitome of “hole in the wall.”
I walk in to see multiple piles of “junk” hauled everywhere. On counters, piling on the floor, nothing was organized.
I asked the owner, who was in the middle of inhaling her lunch, if she had any camera equipment. She informed me that she did, but didn’t know where any of it was. She didn’t seem interested in making any real “sale.”
I showed her a watch that I wanted to sell, which was brand new in the box and priced at $420. She looked at it for half a second, and told me it didn’t work (red flag #1).
I asked to see the watch, waited sixty seconds, and told her that the watch indeed DOES work. I explained that the little dial that(which was constantly spinning) takes one minute for the larger hand to move.
Apparently, she did not know this.
She then asked how much I wanted for it, and before I could respond, she started mentioning how she’s a reseller and gets those same types of watches for 90% off. (Red flag #2)
In other words, that was her way of letting me know she was only going to offer chump change.
I asked for the watch back, and left the store. She killed the sale before it could even happen with her poor language.
I am hoping that this woman is not the actual owner of this establishment. She is not knowledgeable, and doesn’t have proper business/sales etiquette. I don’t see this business being around in another five years. It doesn’t look like there is anything in that building worth over $15 and everything is dusty, and obviously has never been wiped down. I’d recommend a local pawn shop before I’d send anyone here.
