5 /5 M Fisher: Soon after we retired, we approached Nate from the Fidelity AA office, intending to buy 2 large (relative to our modest nest egg) annuities. Nate politely talked with (not pressured) us about this and our overall retirement plan in order to get a clear understanding of our request and needs. He confirmed the reasonableness of our plan, which added to our confidence in doing this. And he did so without pressuring us to hire Fidelity to develop and execute a plan for us. Nate also explained to us that ILO of the S-T annuity a CD ladder would be a better substitute, since at the time CD rates were in the 4.5 to 4.9% range. He then explained to us how the CD-ladder works.
Since these were big (to us) transactions they required a lot of paperwork and procedures on and outside of our Fidelity account. Some of these steps were complicated and not fully clear to us. Craig on Nate’s team did an outstanding job of guiding me through these steps in order to ensure our large annuities and CD-Ladders were purchased as we intended and with the optional riders that were valuable to us. He politely and thoroughly answered our questions.
Both Nate and Craig seemed to be straight-shooters who did not pressure us or attempt to sell us products or services we didn’t request or need.
