5 /5 Mike Haskins: I hired Kelly as a referral from a friend of mine. Unfortunately, she was thrown into my custody case in the middle with little reaction time to pending court dates. She listened to my situation, worked hand in hand with the GAL, and has been pushing the case along as best she can. I realize that the court system is very slow, but while remaining patient, Im getting proper updates from Kelly, and the communication to the GAL, opposing attorney, and judge has been very well written or spoken. I feel she really understands my situation, and shes on my team in getting me access with my kids.

1 /5 Megan Fiedler: I hired Kelly for a child custody case against my abuser, who frequently uses our child for his own personal vendetta. Months after our case closed, I had the state of Illinois contact me because Kelly had “negotiated” a child support amount that was below the legal limit he was entitled to pay. Two years after my case was over, my abuser discovered that Kelly had mistakenly put someone else’s visitation schedule in the final agreement, and began holding my daughter to that schedule, despite having our own that we worked out in mediation based on my daughters best interests, that we had been following for years. When I contacted Kelly about this, seeking advice on how to fix this, she was defensive and would only say she “didn’t remember,” even blaming me by saying I shouldn’t have signed it when it wasn’t correct. Although true, I was a single mom going through a traumatic experience with an abuser, and she was being paid hundreds of dollars per hour to do her job. Three years later, my daughter just celebrated Christmas without seeing both her parents, even though we live 5 minutes apart. Do not recommend Kelly for any custody case.

1 /5 Veronica: We hired Kelly Vecchio in June of 2019. Prior to hiring her we had already attended mediation with the other parent since that was a condition set by the previous court order. Since last year she has not made any progress in the court proceedings. She would go to court and say we hadnt attended mediation and hearing would get postponed. To please the court mediation was attended again and yet she still showed to court stating we did not attend to mediation. She will not take your case seriously and will be unprepared for court. After finally having enough a message was left for her office on why the judge wanted mediation AGAIN FOR A 3RD TIME?!?! And no response, of course. Then she wants to set up a conference call with both parties to come to a resolution. We declined that conference, because if after 5 hours of mediation nothing was resolved a 1 hour conference wont resolve anything either. We want everything that has happened to be on record which is why we want to meet with the GAL. That was our goal from day one. Kelly does not want to put in the work that your family needs. After declining her "conference meeting" she filed a motion to be removed as attorney for us due to a breakdown in attorney/client relationship. Plain and simple she did not like being told that she has been providing ineffective counsel and has been irreponsible with our hearings. If you care about your children and want a good outcome listen to all the bad reviews, they are true and find yourself another lawyer.

1 /5 Carli Thomas: If you read any reviews before you hire this law firm, please take the time to read this one! I so desperately wish I had instead of just trusting a close contact referral. I had hired Anne Vecchio in March of 2021. It is February 2022 now as I write this. Back in March of 2021 she had helped me to file for full custody of my son. It was a straight forward case, I just wanted a parenting agreement in writing, as well as obtain child support. Over the summer we worked on getting the parenting plan straightened out, something the father and I worked on together with her advice of how to word some things. This was finalized in October of 2021. I also had completed my financial affidavit back in August of 2021 and sent that to the law firm. She then told me she never received these items. Fortunately I had made copies before I mailed them. I made copies again, and sent them certified mail this time in October 2021. Starting in November 2021, she had both parties financials, as well as the signed and initialed parenting plan. In November she continued the case in court, same for December and January. I never received an answer as to why. At this point TOO much money had been spent and I was getting frustrated that such a straight forward case had been continued so many times, when we had the papers done and finalized by October 2021. Mind you, every month another statement would come between $100-$300 when basically nothing had been worked on. Finally in January of 2022, I had fired Anne as my lawyer and she filed to come off the case. At our court date on 02/10/2022 the judge acknowledged her coming off the case as my attorney, and I went to file my motion to appear without counsel going forward, as well as submit the financial affidavits of BOTH parties. Something that should have been done by Anne back in November of 2021. When I was filing, I asked if the parenting plan had been submitted (which she said it had been 10 minutes prior in front of the judge).. and to no surprise, no record of our parenting plan was in the court system. So I filed that myself as well. Its also not a good look when the woman behind the window asked who my attorney had been, and the look in her eyes when I named Anne Vecchio. Basically, if you want to waste thousands of dollars, and get your court cases continued over and over... go with this law office. As a single mother when I originally filed, I am very disappointed of how I was taken advantage of by this law firm.

The process has been particularly challenging at times due to contentious interactions, questionable decisions, and concerns about the children’s well-being. For parents facing similar family challenges, I urge you to prioritize being the best parent you can be, regardless of the state of your relationship. The well-being of your children should always come first. That said, Anne Vecchio’s pragmatic and no-nonsense approach is a breath of fresh air. I trust that she knows her way around the system and understands the complexities of the law and the challenges that parents face today.
