5 /5 Lisa Gibson: Dr. Hatchet did an amazing job once again. My husband had a surgical procedure done today and as usual it went smoothly. He explains the procedure, the possible side effects, and tells us what to look for. He’s a very busy man and doesn’t stay too long chatting but he’s an amazing surgeon.

5 /5 Dawn Ellis: I recently had to take my mother to the emergency room here at Good Sam. The staff were fantastic! They were knowledgeable and made us feel at ease with her condition. They were having a difficult time with Mom’s iv and so they called in the iv nurse. I believe his name was Tyler. When he came in the room, were met with such compassion and empathy, rolled into such skill! This nurse was not only able to get an iv and all of my mom’s blood work, but he had my mom laughing and smiling the entire time. This was something I haven’t seen in a while. She even asked me after he left when they would be coming in to put her IV in. Creating an atmosphere where the patient doesn’t have to feel like a patient is a true gift from the lord. Having a dedicated iv nurse was such a better experience and we will be choosing Good Sam for now on because of it. I pray this hospital continues touching lives of people in the Mt. Vernon community.

1 /5 Anna Ferris: RATING IS FOR LABOR AND DELIVERY Taken me some time to write this as Im still in shock. Had my youngest in June via C-section along with the removal of an ovary. Durning the whole stay everyone was cold, acted as if they were just there to do a job and go home. I assumed that something bad happened that no one was talking about because it seemed as if most the staff was that way. It was that way every time I had to go there though. I was high risk and had multiple times I had to go to labor and delivery before actually delivering and was treated cold every single time. One time the nurse even called my unborn child a little shit because she was having a hard time getting the censor on for the stress test. I really try to ignore healthcare workers attitudes though because you never know what they have seen and are actively having to deal with. Unfortunately I couldnt ignore the pain I was in and the lack of communication between staff. I talked to multiple nurses about the pain before ever getting to speak to my doctor. Literally none of them knew that on top of the C-section I had my ovary removed until I said something and doing that just made it were the dismissed my pain. The doctor and one nurse were the only people that listened to me and Im so thankful for them. Didnt feed me but twice my entire 3 day stay and one of those times it was cover in hair. Had to send it back and when I finally got something back all I got was a sandwich. I didnt have an appetite so I didnt complain anymore. They also kept trying to take my baby out the room. I had to agree to let them when they were trying to do a hearing test but couldnt because my eldest is a talker. They didnt like that Daddy followed them though and made that pretty clear. I had my eldest here and had a completely different experience. Everyone (Expect one nurse) was beyond sweet then, made sure I was okay and didnt get pissy with me when I said no to removing my child from my sight. That pregnancy wasnt high risk though, I only had to be in the hospital once and that was 6 years ago. This time I wish so much that I had let the sentimental crap slide and went to breeze instead. Not only do I regret using advancia health (seriously worst company I have ever had this displeasure of having to deal with) but this time I regret using Good Sam. If you can, go literally anywhere else. Also This hospital did save my life at one point. I really hate leaving a negative review because of it but even that night was filled with horror. Although I chalk most of it up to them doing what they had to do to keep me alive, there still isnt anything good I can say other than that. I was kept in and empty waiting room for 2 hours while visibly dying, when they finally came to get my vitals I was immediately rushed into surgery. Surgery that I had to be awake for and felt all of. They were cold that night, I was dying though and they didnt have time to care about anything else and I completely understand that. I have delt with this hospital not just with my own experiences but with loved ones as well and although I do believe they will keep you alive as best as they can, I also believe they will be straight up rude or just not care. Again, if you can, go somewhere else.

Top to bottom 4th floor staff CNA, LPN, RN, DON, MD & on call staff all impressed me. Most especially direct care CNAs Trisa, Nancy, Maggie [?sp], & Lindsay (got me coffee middle of night shift). RNs Tonia, Janet, Jenelle. Discharge Dr. Taino & surgeon Dr. Shifano, Dr. Schultz anesthesiology. Plus, housekeeping staff hustled to keep everything above standard. ***** 5 Stars.

5 /5 Karla Keene: I had a hip replacement July 10 and am now doing great. My experience was absolutely amazing. Very little discomfort. The nurses and staff treated me as family. Went home the second day. Am still taking physical therapy and getting stronger each day. I have nothing but good things to say about my experience.
