1 /5 Kandace Mallette: Unprofessional and Disappointing
We applied for a small auto loan last Thursday and submitted everything they asked for, licenses, stubs, W2s, the whole process. We worked through multiple vehicles until finally finding one they said they’d approve. After nearly a week of delays (due to short staffing, which we were understanding about), we were told everything was set. We arranged insurance, coordinated with the dealer, and were scheduled to go in this morning to sign.
Only to have my husband call ahead and be told last minute that the loan was denied. No call. No warning. Just a flat-out denial after nearly a week of false hope and back-and-forth.
This wasn’t just highly unprofessional, it was cruel. We were strung along for days, and all it would’ve taken was a two-minute courtesy call. I’m disabled with a disabled daughter. We were relying on this for a safe vehicle to make it to out of town specialists and doctor appointments. I can’t even imagine bringing our kids in expecting to drive home in a car, only to be turned away.
Do better. People deserve honesty and basic respect, especially when it comes to something as important as a vehicle for their family.
