5 /5 Dayy Maaan: I have been with the Credit Union since 2010. Ive been with them through their remodel and this new merger or change to Credit Union 1. I’ve seen a lot of 1-star reviews lately, but honestly, people are being way too quick to complain. Yes, the system changed, but the staff have been great about helping everyone adjust. When I needed help with the new app, they sat with me, explained everything clearly, and we had it working in about five minutes right there in the branch. Every time I have a question, they take the time to make sure I fully understand before I leave. Special shout-out to Daisy — she always greets me with a big smile and makes you feel welcome right away. If you have questions she has got your back and will help until your issue is resolved. Because she’s bilingual, she’s able to help even more people, and that makes a huge difference. Instead of leaving 1-star reviews people should show a little patience and appreciate the great service these folks are working hard to provide. The members are adapting to a new system just like we are. Thanks to everyone at the credit union for helping us all get through this transitional phase that theyre are having alongside us.

5 /5 Heidi Brelsford: Great problem solving on the part of associate David at the Sycamore branch. He prioritized my account issues and I was able to speak directly with people at the upper levels to address some pretty complicated issues in a timely manner; they also followed up. Im impressed with CU1s customer service both at the branch, in the upper levels, and at their call center.

1 /5 C: After decades of multiple generations of banking with the credit union in Sycamore, since this damned merger our entire family is actively looking to take our business elsewhere. Credit Union 1 is horrible for customer service, ridiculous fees and unapproved charges! Save yourself the hassle and avoid this place! I cant wait to leave it in the past! *Edit to say they replied to my poor review before they will even return a call to discuss the fraudulent charges their accounting department put through my account. This morning I was told by the 1st employee that I could "go online to dispute the charges", before she came back to correct herself, saying with these particular charges I "will receive a call back shortly from accounting". After waiting half a day, I called back to have Mia explain "their policy is for the accounting department call back in 24-48 hours". Mind you the fraudulent charges & fees they put through my checking account without permission, I have an email proving they should never have approved. But I have to wait nicely for the crooked organization to call me back?! Happy for the first generation of our family to have already pulled their money from this place, although I dont think it should be legal for them to have to wait 5-10 business days for their money! I look forward to the day CU1 doesnt have a cent of ours!!

2 /5 America Rivera: Good morning, Three to four weeks ago, I posted a review on my experience with Sarah Cardenas @ Credit Union 1 in Sycamore, IL. I met with her on July 3, 2025. Unfortunately, the information I requested from her was not processed? I did not receive anything in the mail as she stated? I called Credit Union 1, and the calls continue to go to the automated system (Luna). It was very frustrating, not being able to get in contact with Sarah Cardenas or anyone at Credit Union 1, in Sycamore, Ill! Very disappointing! Not professional or Business appropriate at Credit Union 1 at Sycamore, IL. . After numerous calls to Credit Union 1 at Sycamore, IL. ….no one answering the calls, I was able to get in contact with Elan Financial Services to answer my questions.

1 /5 Amanda: Been a member of the Illinois Community Credit Union for roughly 25 years. The customer service used to be excellent. However, it has progressively declined each year that passes. Since their merger with Credit Union 1 customer service is nonexistent. You will spend countless time waiting for an agent to answer your phone call. Currently been on hold for just under an hour with no response. I would bank elsewhere unless you enjoy long waits on the phone to speak with someone who isnt even working in the local bank and being charged unnecessary fees that we have never dealt with in the past. What exactly do the bank workers do if they no longer answer phone calls???? Update: 60 minutes on the phone, spoke with Sonya who was rude and contradict herself with the information provided. She says you only need the first 10 digits of your account number to set up direct deposit and if you include the last 4 your deposit will be rejected, however, the form from the CU website adds all 14 digits in their refilled form. Asked her about it and she has an attitude saying she will transfer me and someone else can tell me the same thing. Okay, I just want to know why the form doesnt match what you are saying Ms Sonya.
