4 /5 The Wills: [Updated review after three years of use] We continue to enjoy the small town feel of the local RFCU - after the initial 3 month obligatory wait period for online banking (eg online check deposits, fund transfers, etc.,) began to work. Over the past three years, we’ve had a good relationship with Robins and now enjoy it more than ever.
[Original review 2021] New Member Caveats: as a physical location, I like RFCU, no problems. As potential new members however, there are some “restrictions” which seem odd given what’s generally available in marketplace.
1) when you set up a new account they hold your money for several weeks — just be aware you will not have access to your funds for several weeks; potentially start accounts with a small amount?
2) Mobile deposit is not available; you MUST GO TO THE BRANCH IN PERSON and wait 3 months before this feature is available! I’ve been using Mobile banking 10 years and this seems antiquated - just be aware.
In summary, if you’re looking for a great local credit union, go here, but be prepared for lengthy access to your initial funds and 3 months before meaningful remote access.
