1 /5 Caleb Palmer: We have used Premier Tax and Accounting Services for the last several years. This year, with new ownership taking on far too much work and not finishing our 2023 tax return until late June (Only after us calling the office for multiple weeks requesting it be completed), we are being charged almost $500 in penalties and interest as a result of the forced extension. Despite submitting our information in mid-February, they did not notify us that we had to file an extension due to their inefficiency until less than one week before the April tax deadline. Had they simply completed our return by then, we could have resolved our unaccounted for document and avoided these additional costs. It’s also important to note that had we not contacted the office repeatedly, we would likely still be waiting on our return to be completed and unknowingly accruing more fees/interest in the meantime. Despite costing us an extra $500 on top of our tax bill, they were happy to continue raising their fees as they have annually since we started using them.
Their recommendation was to “Use this as a learning opportunity”. We learned that we shouldn’t entrust them with our hard earned money. My recommendation to any prospective clients is to find another tax service that works more than 28 hours per week, and that is willing to take accountability for their own actions, or lack thereof.
