1 /5 Allison Ritchey: Rude! Disrespectful! Mr Jeremy Penland himself, (whom was not even my representing attorney) told me to my face, as he ( Swings open the door from back, slams his hands down on the counter and proceeds to shout at me) "That he did not care about my damn feelings. And that he will make sure he sends me a printout of all the services and to make sure that I get a bill. " I paid $1,500 cash for a divorce and my TPO and all this to get started for protection for my abusive husband who was in prison. Coming for my distraught and scared mother standing in their office crying. Stevie, the paralegal at the front desk, She had told me the day before that it hasnt been submitted. But when I went up there, shes done it now. This comes After numerous calls to Ms Romans, who was my attorney, and numerous emails and no responses. I went down to the office. Thats when they proceeded to yell at me like I was an ignorant child! Mrs Romans didnt come out. I dont even know if she was there. But Mr Penland busted through that door to the lobby and screamed in my face. He told me he was not going to represent me anymore. I said thats fine. I just wanted them to withdraw and give me my money back because they did not their job, nothing has been done, and now I still have no divorce and no TPO or no contact order for my children and I. Ha, he told me that was $1,500 to file a few pieces of paper. This firm is a whole joke.

1 /5 Martina Dixon: I had Mr. Pendland, and I would not recommend to ANYONE! First we had 30 days to respond to the divorce. I call his secretary Stevie on the 30th day and said hey double checking we sent all that over today is the last day , this was 3:30 her exact words was “oh shit, oh my god, let me do that right now, I’ll call you back.” I called and called starting at 4:45 panicked she didn’t do it no answer no response at all! Until the next day I kept blowing them up! Only talked to Jermey when he put on a show during consultation. And going into Mediation. Then in mediation I had filled all Bank, assets, ext papers… back in July and turned in early July on oct 5th (mediation) he asked her for my paperwork she said oh my god I messed up I never put it in I have to go find it! Then a mediation he kept saying well let’s agree to this or that we don’t wanna go to court. He kept saying over and over and over again we don’t wanna go to court. But why didn’t we want to go to court? I had nothing to hide from court, and I wasn’t scared to go to court, and I wasn’t asking for anything extra or over the top. He just did not want to. He just kept trying to get me to mediate and come off of what little I asked for. I was happy with The final of the divorce, but no thanks to him only the mediator. I was even telling him One of the trucks was bought during the marriage and the other lawyer come back and said it wasn’t and he said he don’t seem like a lawyer that would lie about it. I believe he probably has proof even so I was telling him I know it was bought during the marriage, we can always get the proof. He just try’s to convince you to take the easiest way out for him to do the less work. But trust he charges you like he’s fighting for you in court.

5 /5 beth cass: Mr. Penland and staff took very good care of me during a complicated divorce. Mr. Penland went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of going forward in life. His instincts were spot on and he knows what hes doing. I cant thank him enough and will recommend him to anyone that needs a lawyer!

1 /5 David Williams: By far the worst people ever to deal with, they lack communication an then Stonewall under a "you gotta pay before we do anything" after waiting a month a half on them to get the paperwork work so we can legally discuss the case in its entirety. I would not recommend them if you want professionals who stand by their word an do there part. This is a house hold of circus clowns including of the main partner Amber. If you value professionalism, courtesy, honesty an respect. Find you somewhere else to go

1 /5 Catherine Ventura: I came to the Penland and Romans law firm for a personal injury case. They were very accommodating at first, but that quickly changed. Every time that I called or sent an email IF I got a response back, it would be at least 2 weeks as a response time. I was never kept up to date on my case or where in the process we were. I didn’t even know how much my policies or case was worth. My son was in a bad accident where he was burnt very badly at his father’s house. He has 3rd degree burns all over his arms and fingers. He couldn’t come to where I am currently staying because there are dogs, and he couldn’t get anything in his open wounds. He also needed to go to Nashville to a burn specialist 3 times a week. I didn’t have the money to get a new place, so I was going to get a loan settlement for assistance since it will take such a long time for his wounds to heal. I wouldn’t be able to see my son unless I did this. The loan settlement company said that it would be 24-48 hours of payout after they got everything from the lawyer’s office. It had been 5 days, so I called to see what was going on. I was told that it was being taken care of, and someone would call me back. It had been 4 days with no update. I call back. I was told that the file was being worked on. Another 3 days went by. I called yet again with the same response. I waited for 5 more days with no communication, so I went down to the office. I was speaking very upsetting because I hadn’t seen my son in a month and a half. I wasn’t able to console him during this time. I couldn’t hold him. I couldn’t care for him as only a Mother can. This money is my only way to have him with me. She takes me into an office. I’m upset, then she starts positioning her phone and looking at it while I was talking being inconspicuous. It was obvious what she was doing. I asked,”Are you recording me?” She quickly denied it acting as if I was crazy, but then placed her phone down where it wasn’t positioned towards me anymore. She wouldn’t address any of my questions, then they escorted me out. I never got the money, so I haven’t seen my son in 3 months. I sent Jeremy Penland an email of my concerns. I didn’t hear back from him at all. I found another lawyer to take my case. He was happily going to take it, but he said that he needed to call this law firm, and I needed to let them know that he would be taking over my case. I did. I waited for him to call me back. I didn’t hear anything. I called his office, and nothing. He gave me his own cell number. Nothing. Suspicious that he was good until he spoke with this law firm. Now, I can’t find anyone to represent my case. I just received my file that I requested 2 months ago. I call the courthouse to find out where we are in the litigation process because they never told me anything. A trial is going to begin Nov. 12. I am forced to go pro se or representing myself because no one will take over the case since it is in the process of where it is. I have to get up to date on a case that I know nothing about. Great representation.
