1 /5 Ray J: Katie Bates ruined my whole custody case that was filed against me from a bitter ex from a long winded past mistake. The past mistake was a ex I eventually had 2 kids by who has always been jealous of me and in competition with me. Long story short, she never heard my side out, told me “I would rather have a toxic baby father than no baby father at all” . When he cries out for attention she tells me “think of him as a Disney dad” . Katie Bates signed documents behind my back that I was never aware of, when I sat down to talk to her she told me “I’m just mad because of my pregnancy hormones” which was not true (yes I was pregnant at the time) . She will make you seem like she knows where you are coming from just to become your attorney and then do absolutely nothing but go on vacation and will never respond to your emails or get back to you until weeks if not a whole month later. Continuously talks about her Ex and her experience to make it seem like it’s a common thing and takes over the whole conversation to barely let you say a word. Katie Bates did absolutely nothing besides say she was representing me just to not represent me while charging me for every phone call and email when asking about things of my case that they should have been reaching out to me about anyways. The opposing party was in contempt numerous of times and when I made it aware and wanted to file for contempt every time I tried she never filled the motion and kept saying it’s just a temporary order. But every time the opposing party told stories they made me showed proof, when the opposing party can just say anything. He filed 2 false CPS reports on me to start the case, got my own son to call the police on me (when my son was tearing up my house and refused to listen to me) told stories to child support, told stories to the judge, basically a whole case built off of LIES! When I thought court was about the truth and proof. Yet I’m still going thru this same case going on 2yrs, my new counsel has to play catch up, and I’m now in debt for still trying to prove my defense that is finally get shown after I had to release her for doing absolutely nothing in my case. To include I had a court hearing on a day she didn’t tell me about because she never called, emailed, or communicated it over to me, so I went anyway then the opposing party speaks up for her saying “Katie is not going to be here due to conflict” but told me absolutely nothing. But hey if you are looking for someone to misrepresent you, to sit and tell you of cases that she thinks are similar to yours, charge you for every single email of you asking about your case, and phone calls even if you call and say “Hey happy birthday” she is definitely the attorney to go with.
I have all the proof, documentation, and everything to prove my defense, Katie Bates did not go through 1 piece of paper, never uploaded nothing in my defense, never got to speak in court, she just folded up in a corner and basically let the opposing party say whatever and do whatever like they are friends. She also has done another melanated lady this same way, put her so far in debt, never fended for her, and basically kept her in the blind signing things without the clients knowledge and agreed to things the client never agreed to as well. Katie Bates caused the relationship between me and my oldest autistic son to go down the drain by letting the opposing party get over on my son while I was pregnant, they let my autistic son write a false statement that I knew nothing about after he refused four times in the court room to go move with his father until being bribed with gifts and stories. So much was done behind my back and in the dark that it is a flat out shame.
