In searching for good deals on insurance, I stumbled across American Family Insurance. At first, everything seemed great! The coverage was set up in a similar fashion to their competitors and they seemed to have much better rates.
The biggest complication is with payments. I have CONSISTENTLY had problems with their automated system. After giving them my payment information multiple times over the phone, via their app, and through their website and authorizing automatic payments every time - SOMEHOW the system kicks it back! The crazy thing about it is that I get confirmation that everything is "good to go!" and then I still get notifications later that say that my policy is past due!!!
Most recently, I purchased a home. We paid for the first of homeowners insurance at closing (over $2,200). After living in the home for nearly four months, I get a text message from AmFam that I own them over $700 for my homeowners insurance and that it hasnt been paid! I contacted the mortgage holder and they said that everything was, in fact, paid at closing. After refuting the charge, they said that my payment was credited toward someone elses account! As a whole, this company is absolutely deplorable from a bookkeeping aspect and I would not recommend them. I myself, will be looking for other options immediately.
