1 /5 Kelvin Hall: DONT WASTE YOUR TIME. I switched insurance policy to Universal/Clovered (seems like they go 2 names since iget emails from both companies regarding my policy) 2 months ago. All documents were provided to the company, and everything was finalized and approved.
1 month ago is when I started receiving messages from them stating my policy is going to get canceled. They stated they never received the declarations page from previous insurance. Ok, cool. I called previous insurance and provided that to them. Then they stated my policy is still due to be canceled since the records show my roof is too old. I was baffled by this since I bought this 2 years ago, and It was a total renovation. Im like ok cool, this should be something very easy to solve. I spoke to an agent who advised me that I needed to get the work permit from my county clerk to prove that there was work done. I went, got the permit they requested, and turned that in. They then told me that was not acceptable, and that I needed to get a new roof, And that was the only way for my policy not to be canceled. I requested a call from a manager as that was the craziest thing Ive heard. I have to get a new roof even though my roof was done less than 5 years ago. While waiting for a ball back from manager, I called back to see if a different agent would be able to guide me better. This time, the agent advised me that underwriting stated I needed the paid in full invoice from the people that did the roof. Im like, no way I can get that because this work was done a year or two before I even bought the house.
Well, i finally got a call back from a manager advising me that this may have all been miscommunication. He stated that the permit from city hall I turned in was only a permit stating that work was needed to be done on the roof and that I needed a permit of completion from the city. I took another say off of work to get said permit of completion from the city stating the work was completed and passed inspection. I thought that was the end of that.
Its now 1 week later, and i get another email stating my policy will be canceled if I dont get a licensed roofer to come take pictures. At this point, I will be looking for a new insurance company so that I dont have lapse in coverage. I repeat, DO NOT WASTE your time with this company. They will keep moving the goal post on you.
