1 /5 Glynn Warwick: This is one company to avoid! I put my money in with Stifel, utilizing the services of John Kamkutis, in November of 2016. He had suggested several different directions to go over the years. He assured me, I could expect a return of 8-10% annualized. I know there are risked in any stock portfolios, however, With the stock market almost doubling over that time-frame, (DJI, NASDAQ, S&P500), I expected to hit these objectives. Well, in January 2023, reviewing my account, and I was down 2% over the last 6 years. I contacted the Branch Manager, the 1st week of February, and said it was time for a change, as John wasnt returning calls, was embelishing my results, and was not helpful.
The Branch Mgr, Jerry Hall recommended a path for me, with some preferred bank stocks, and I agreed this was a good direction for me to go. Jerry reached back out and said he was turning my account over to the Smith Team in his branch, as it wasnt ethical for him to take control of the account.
After 2 weeks, I was contacted by Weston Smith, the son of Mark Smith. We spent awhile on the phone and he made some suggestions about moving forward. I said I agreed, and asked for him to email me what he was suggesting. Never happened. I got a vague email from him 5 days later, suggesting for me to hang onto one stock, and consider another stock program, nothing like our conversation over the phone. Long story short, In two months, where I was requesting a change by the Branch Manager Jerry Hall, absolutely NOTHING WAS DONE. I was upset and sent an email to Weston on Monday, April 3rd, requesting concrete recommendations so we could move forward, as I am TIRED of inaction on the part of Stifel.
Well, on April 4th, I get a call back from Weston Smith, stating they will no longer handle my account, as were "not a good fit. An unhappy customer is never going to be happy so well part ways now. You werent happy when I saved you on your fees and I dont think we can make you happy."
Well, after 2 months of spinning our wheels in 2023, and 6 1/2 years of absolutely no gain, yes, it is time to part ways! DO NOT invest your hard-earned money with this team of "Financial Advisors", as they have proven over and over again (Ive got 6 years of experience) they dont know what theyre doing in the markets and theyre SLOW to react to anything!
