2 /5 Cole Tippit: Everything is great until you decide to cancel. I started with Liz who was able to my offer of $5,600 for FR-44 cut in half. I was ecstatic and this was a real relief on my life. I cant express how smooth it was working with Liz and how great she was on shopping the best rate for me. With that said, I shopped around again come time for the renewal and Progressive offered a rate $900 cheaper, everyone who is going through their own FR-44 knows that this is a blessing. So I decide to go back to progressive. I call Bristol West, who Liz set me up with, said thank you for carrying me for these 6 months but I am swapping to another company. They said okay but since you started with a broker your broker must cancel the policy. I immediately reached out to Liz letting her know and requesting the cancellation. This was 16 days before the policy ended. No response from Liz. I started my policy with Progressive and forgot about this. Policy ended Nov but I was still receiving mail in January which I was waiving off as renewal offers, I finally open one and they renewed my policy stating they never heard anything from the broker. Not only that, they have cancelled the renewal due to non payment and I owe the premium for the term which the policy was active. I called them to dispute it and after some back and forth, I was able to get them to retroactively cancel the policy. Fine, nooowww debt collectors are calling me because they see the balance with Bristol West or received it at one time. I have called both the debt collector and the insurance about this a couple times, as recently as this weekend. Just waiting for them to get on the same page. This was a really unfortunate ending to a great start, not sure I can recommend this company to anyone with FR-44 especially if you are going to continue to shop for the best rate.
