1 /5 Robert Morley: I tried to open an account with Fidelity. I entered my information and it found I had an old account. I called the 800 number and, in order to verify me, they asked through which employer was the account opened. I didnt know that it was through an employer. They asked me when I began and ended the employment. I did not know that information SO THEY CANNOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT for me. I offered to send my drivers license, passport, social security card to prove my identity. They cant use that information. All they want is to know the duration of employment in a place I worked for 6 months some 30 or 40 years ago. This is why we need to put an end to traditional finance.

1 /5 Carl Suarez: The technical support at Fidelity is completely broken. I have been a customer since 2003. The technical problems have been over the last six months and are massive. Before that, they were great. Ive called probably a couple dozen times and been lied to and bounced around for past six months. I come from the technology world and this group is among the worse of the worse. You cant talk to a technical person. The financial reps try to help but they are powerless. If you dont want messed up data, stay away from Fidelity. I unfortunately am a bit stuck due to the many years I have been a customer and decades of data. I handle my own investments and have outperformed the market by a very wide margin for several decades-- so my performance data is quite important to me. I am a private client with a very large balance and seven figure returns annually so you can imagine how they will treat a new client. If you are a new client considering joining Fidelity two words--stay away.
