Ed Brown - State Farm Insurance Agent - Sanford (FL)

1 /5 Olivia Keaton: My policy expired in June of 2024. I tried before the policy expired to add a new vehicle to my policy on the app. I did everything on my end, it said that it would be sent to my agent for review. It never went through even after filling out the information two separate times. After this issue, I tried directly calling Ed Brown’s office. Each time I called there was no answer and I left a voicemail each time. I left a call back number, my name, the status of my policy, etc and I never received a call back. I then tried reaching out to the office through the app and website, both to no avail. My husband and I both work full time jobs and are currently in the progress of selling our house and buying another. I have not had the available time to make a stop into the office until today. Upon going in, the employees were very rude. We were there over an hour and a half only to get quoted almost $650 to activate the policy today and then have that amount as our monthly payment for two vehicles. We do not have a record of accidents, reckless driving, late payments, etc. We have both been loyal, safe drivers with Statefarm for over 4 years and never had issues until transferring to Ed Browns office in Sanford. I called an office in Deland and they answered my first call and tried getting in contact with Ed Browns office to transfer my policy because my policy was locked into their location. She also could not get into contact with anyone at this office. While talking to the man today, a woman came from the back part of the office saying she had called me July 3 to ask if I knew who my husband was. I had received this call while at work and unable to answer. I called back during office hours and got no answer. I then called the office number again and got no answer there. When I told her this, she got a very rude attitude with me and said she would not argue with me. She then muttered under her breath and went back to the back portions of the office. I got a quote from Progessive while in the office for $50 to activate my policy today and $150 total monthly for both of my vehicles. I was told at this point by the man at Ed Browns office to take that offer because there was nothing else he could do for me. Overall, the staff was rude and unhelpful. If you’re trying to contact the office and they’re not answering, save yourself the stress and just close your policy and save your money by going somewhere else!!

2 /5 Stacie Vondolteren: I have been with State Farm since I first owned a vehicle. I moved to Florida two years ago and decided to continue using State Farm because I had such a great experience with my agent back in Colorado. My experience here has been the exact opposite. Like most customers, I prefer to have my insurance payment withdrawn from my account so I do not have to hassle and call. In March, I had to change my card number for payment and since that time, I have had to call every month to ask them to change my card number so the payment is automatically withdrawn. The employees never seem to care, nor are apologetic that I have repeatedly have to call. The employee I spoke with today, Sarah, seemed to careless that I was going to look for another agent because of my unresolved issues. As a loyal customer, I am disappointed when I come across people that dont care about their job or the well-being of the company they work for. Mr. Brown should know about certain employees that do not want to keep loyal customers and have no customer service skills. Next month, I will probably have to call again and at that time, I will be changing agents.

1 /5 Clara Steele: Mr. Brown’s son shared my information with my son. Who I removed from my policy as beneficiary. He informed him that I was cashing my policy in after making my daughter in law my beneficiary. My son then called my brother whose wife called my granddaughter and told her what I did. Mr. Brown had no right to discuss the amount of my cashed in policy or who my beneficiaries were. I’m very disappointed with the service after dealing with Ed Brown for over fifteen years.

I moved to Brevard county a couple of years and because of their loyalty....I am still with them! Thanks for everything!

5 /5 John Bellmany: I have been insured through this agency over 20 years and always recieve excellent, friendly service. Would recommend to everyone. BTW, rates are the best I can find anywhere for Auto, life and Homeowners insurace- I have checked with many companies but they simply cant be beat.
