1 /5 Sahajahan Ashraf: I retained Joseph Iennaco as my attorney to assist with matters concerning both my employer and my medical license. Unfortunately, from the outset, he failed to advocate for me effectively. He never took the time to understand my full story, which hindered our ability to develop a strong and cohesive defense.
The initial letter he sent to my employer was worded in a passive and unassertive manner, giving the impression that he was not committed to defending my interests. Moreover, he failed to inform me that he had initiated communications with my employer’s legal counsel. I only became aware of this after some time had passed and I inquired about any updates. At that point, he disclosed that he had been in contact with them for a week and had scheduled a meeting for the following day—none of which had been communicated to me.
During that meeting, he was presented with incorrect information that contradicted what I had previously shared with him. Had he taken the time to understand my account thoroughly, he would have been able to correct those inaccuracies and potentially resolve the issue. Instead, he accepted their version of events without challenge and failed to advocate on my behalf. When I asked if we could submit a response, he told me, “They’ve already made their decision; it’s unlikely they’ll change their mind.” His approach was consistently passive, and at no point did he genuinely fight for me.
Despite these concerns, I continued to retain him as my attorney. Unfortunately, he later provided advice that was ultimately construed as obstruction of an investigation. This advice placed me in a significantly worse position. Even after this occurred, he showed no empathy, took no responsibility, and made no effort to help rectify the situation.
I strongly urge anyone considering hiring Joseph Iennaco to conduct thorough research. In my experience, he lacked the necessary experience, failed to communicate effectively, did not advocate for me, and demonstrated a lack of empathy throughout the process. I am currently considering filing a bar complaint due to the harm his counsel has caused in my case.
