2 /5 Randy Jones: I contacted George Avant to help manage my Mothers money from the sale of her house after we had to move her into an Assisted Living Facility here in Tallahassee. My exact words to him was that I did not want her money in anything risky, that I would be happy with a 2% return, something secure since this would be a short time based on her age and health. I definitely did not want to risk losing any of her money she needed for the care she receiving at her facility. After 7 months and one earlier discussion about losing money in her account, I could not handle the fear of them losing more of her money. The other partner in the business, Tyler Huston, which undoubtedly is the professional side of the business, closed her account and transferred it back to her bank as requested. Even though she lost almost $2000.00 from her investment, they still were able to pull over $1800.00 in fees during this 7 month period. I know there are companies that wont pull fees unless you make money. The extra star was for the professionalism of Tyler Huston only.
As I have found in running my own business for over 30 years here in Tallahassee, you should always listen to your clients request and do what they want. You can always give your input but it is their money to do as they want.
