1 /5 KiKi Dev: This review doesnt reflect this branch or its employees. Im leaving this review to alert the general public not to do business with Wells Fargo and DO NOT trust this financial institution.
I made an in branch deposit yesterday with a check that was made out for a fairly large amount. I asked the teller if they could please verify if the check was good and if the funds were available. The teller was able to verify that the check was good, funds were available, and that a small portion of the check would be released immediately to my account. I was told the remaining amount would be available the next day and provided with a receipt that stated the same.
Fast forward to early this morning Sept. 11, my account shows the check cleared and the funds were available. I payed bills and transferred some money into my savings. About two hours later I checked my account and saw that I was negative $15,000! I couldnt believe what I saw so I immediately called customer service. Of course the agent wasnt able to give me much information and told me that the check I deposited was placed on hold until Sept. 19th.
I went to the local branch in Watsonville on Freedom Blvd where I made the deposit and I spoke with the same teller and asked him what was going on. He told me pretty much the same thing that the customer service agent told me. I began to question why I was told the check was good and that the money would be available the next day. A lady who I assume was a supervisor or branch manager proceeded to tell me that Wells Fargo briefly released the money to me as a courtesy.....HUH???? What kind of a courtesy is that? Release a large amount of money for two hours and then take it back and jam me up for 8 days with a negative balance! WOW!
I firmly believe this is another one of Wells Fargos shady and fraudulent business moves that they are famous for. They are ordered to pay out class action lawsuits for fraudulent business practices that they are found guilty of committing. Perhaps the class action lawsuits are just a small portion of what they have to pay and the benefit is much greater for this institution to Scam the regular working class citizen.
Shame on you Wells Fargo. I will never ever do business with this institution and you should not either unless you enjoy being scammed!
