1 /5 Andrew Pugh: What an unfortunate and bad experience. I went here today (3/24/25 around 12:25pm PST) during my lunch break at work because I wanted them to put the Rolex band I had bought from them back on my Rolex watch. When I entered the building I waited a few minutes for the individuals in the back to finish their conversation and come out to greet me as a customer. No big deal there. The problem began when the lady came out from the back room and it was all downhill from there. I explained that I came in today to see if they could put the band I had purchased from them in the past back on my watch which I figured was a simple (and inexpensive) request. Nope. The lady looked very confused and mentioned something about she does not have this type of band in the store and proceeded to ask me for the receipt. I explained I did not possess this documentation since I had purchased this particular band sometime late last year. She stated to me, almost like she was telling me this for the first time, “This is a Rolex.” I replied, “Yes, I know, this is my watch.” I found her question/statement rather odd. I then asked her, “is there a problem?” to which she replied, “there is no problem” and quoted me a price of $65 to simply put the band back on the watch face. She then mentioned something about the cost of labor since this was something they completed initially when I had bought the band so this would be the cost. I laughed and walked out. What an absolutely absurd price. It felt like price gouging to simply price gouge. I left and took my Rolex to a different location and, surprise surprise, it cost me all of $20 and 7 minutes to get this completed. This was literally less than 1/3 of the price Royalty R Jewelers were trying to charge me! The very nice and well spoken man I dealt with also believes Royalty R Jewelers saw the Rolex and tried to overcharge an unsuspecting customer. I felt insulted by what Royalty R Jewelers were attempting to charge me. CUSTOMERS BEWARE. There are plenty of other jewelers around and I will not return to do business here. Judging from some of these other low star reviews it also seems no accountability is taken on their end and they would rather choose to deflect blame and get defensive which speaks volumes. Customer service is definitely something that should not be overlooked. Sad
EDIT: Royalty R Jewelers replied 3/27/25 and while I can respect the things they wanted to point out I cannot sit by and allow such blatant lies. They stated that I was asking for a free service and this is just hilarious and factually inaccurate. I was and will always be willing to pay to have my Rolex serviced. It’s an extremely important piece to me, I’m just not willing to be fleeced on a something as simple as putting my watch band back on my watch. That’s bad business and the lady who I dealt with made me feel like I was bothering her. Maybe ask that she is more personable and less cold? I don’t know. Like I said, never asked for this service to be free, but I digress. There are plenty of other “luxury” fine jewelers who I would much rather deal with that won’t try to pull a fast one on their customers. Good day!
