5 /5 Dana Longo: Mr. Stephen Penner and Mr. Jeremy Purves recently handled a construction defect matter arising from the lack of appropriate waterproofing on my house. The contractor had gone out of business, and had transferred the assets of its corporation to a different corporation to avoid liability to creditors like me whose homes they had improperly constructed. That action made the case extremely difficult, and, as a practicing attorney myself, I thought that my chances of recovery were slim to none. Mr. Penner and Mr. Purves worked with impressive skill, diligence and persistence in the face of just about every legal obstacle that the insurance defense counsel could mount. At the end, we mediated a very favorable settlement. Without their help, there is no question that I would have received zero reimbursement for my extensive repairs to the negligent construction.
