From the moment I met him, it felt as though I was reconnecting with an old friend. Sam and his team were incredibly warm, professional, and clearly experts in their craft. Years ago, I cracked the 2 carat center diamond in my wedding ring and unfortunately had to shave off 1/4 carat. I attempted to redesign the ring 3 separate times (with 3 different jewelers) but was never fully satisfied with the results. Therefore, I rarely wore my wedding ring—and I truly missed having one that felt special to me. After a friend recommended Sam from Modern Jewelers, I decided to give it one last try. I’m so glad I did! Sam took the time to understand my vision, offered his expert advice, and worked very closely with his Master Jeweler to create a stunning design. The final piece exceeded my expectations in every way—elegant, meaningful, and a wedding ring I am genuinely proud to wear again. If you’re looking for a jeweler who listens, cares, and delivers outstanding craftsmanship, Sam is your guy. He also carries a beautiful selection of jewelry at a variety of price points, so there’s truly something for everyone. I’m beyond grateful for the experience and the final result. 5 /5 A B: Sam, the owner has been in business for decades and that shows with his professionalism, quality (and friendly) team of employees, and detail to his craft. I am a hobbyist jeweler that needed some help finishing a piece and I couldn’t be happier with the result. Fair price, great turnaround time, and just a pleasant experience overall. I was a first time customer and came from the high reviews he has online; yet I was treated like a long time customer which felt very reassuring that I was in good hands. 5 /5 Divina Yarbrough: Samuel Pheng is amazing and his staff were wholesomely singing his praises even before I had a direct conversation with him. He did a splendid recreation of my engagement ring with compassion and sincere interest in why my husband and I got the original ring designed the way it was. Back story on my ring: My engagement ring broke twice (the second time within a year of being repaired) and the other jeweler that did the first repair blamed the break on an "unfamiliar alloy" of the ring and offered to do a full recreation of the ring but at an astronomical price "depending on the metal" we went with for the recreation. The quote was multiple times what we spent on the original ring to begin with. I decided to get opinions from other jewelers and Samuel was the only jeweler who took the time to show me the pits in the metal of my original ring that showed it wasnt quite made well, and was likely a contributing factor to its fragility. He was the only jeweler I talked to who asked after the story of the rings design and offered design suggestions to improve the sturdiness of my ring while maintaining the original sentiment of the design. Very, very satisfied with my experience at Modern Jewelers and they quoted us a fair price for it all, too.
