Julie Olsen Oscar and his team are wonderful. He skillfully crafted a custom diamond engagement ring and diamond baguette wedding band from a design we brought to him over 17 years ago and it came out so beautiful. Then, about five years ago, I accidentally lost the diamond wedding band and was never able to find it. Being one of a kind, I resigned to the fact that I’d never have it again and replaced it with a plain band which just never looked right. So this year I traveled back to Los Angeles from the east coast, after having moved away, and stopped in to see the team and commission the replacement of that band and within a couple weeks I had my gorgeous new ring which was nearly identical to the original and yet somehow even more beautiful than before. Sara Brett I found this business earlier this year. Have sold a few gold necklaces that my family gave to me and I simply have no desire to wear them. What I really like about this store is the excellent customer service its very low key and they dont give you hassles or ask you questions about the origin of your jewelry. Ive been assisted by Alan both times I went in and hes really friendly and very speedy in checking the gold to make sure its real Im pretty sure he has many decades of experience and has no confusion on his end. He likes to be helpful and sometimes I strike up a chat and he is pleasant to talk to you. I havent got to know the other staff yet but next time Ill see what they have to say.. but like I said, the low-key casual atmosphere is something that I really like here. Ive been to some other gold exchange stores where they seemed mistrusting of me, like they were wondering why I had some items or would take my thumbprint and make me feel like I did something wrong, but not this place.

Dana Orlando We LOVE Mark Areias Jewelers in both Aptos and Carmel! My husband and I both got our wedding rings here... 25 years ago! He had his custom made and it still looks amazing. I chose mine from their estate collection at the time. It was simple and beautiful and in our budget at the time but I always imagined building it up at some point. We were finally able to do that around our 15th anniversary and it is now even more beautiful!! The jeweler crafted my ring exactly as I described (and drew out) to them. Weve also gotten some pearl earrings and another estate piece here over the years. They always take care of their customers... they treat us like family. We often stop in to have our wedding rings cleaned professionally by them and they always look like new again :-)
