Since the outcome of this has a big impact on our family, we had to speak with multiple attorneys. We have had experience with a terrible attorney who promised a lot to get retained, but after getting the retaining fee he did not do what he promised, he did not fight hard and wanted us to accept the prosecutor’s first offer. As a result, the outcome was not anything better than what a public defender could have done for. So we are very careful this time.
