Lassen Community College - Susanville (CA)

5 /5 bill eaton: I know it was a couple years ago, (1981) but I can tell you this was/is a great school. You are out of any distractions, and/but you can still have a good time. I have no Idea what it is like today , but I had a great experience there.

5 /5 Tara Bias: Lassen College is a hidden gem in Northern California. We are small enough that we can really offer personalized attention to our students. We know them by name and care for them like family. Our campus is surrounded by the beautiful outdoors where there is endless opportunities for fun adventures. One of the things that makes Lassen College so unique is we are the oldest gunsmithing school in the country and the only one in California! We have 12 different sports teams, incredible CTE programs, and a small town community that is hard to find these days. It is worth a trip to see if you love Lassen as much as we do! It might be the perfect fit you’ve been looking for. It was for me! I came to Susanville from Southern California. I am a Lassen College alumni and I now work at Lassen, running the TRiO program here! Life is good here.

1 /5 joan hp: Ms Myer told Dean lie that i talked about my life story. Yes i did respond 3~4 times doing what they were doing behind. Then i was inform i was suspended from school.. Freedom of speech country but i am pretty much quite person in addition the class is busy we do not have time to talk about my 3~4 hours of life story and they are not interested. She is lie and lie and lie one after the other.

5 /5 Ruth: Im so glad I found a Junior College like Lassen Community College. I would have given it more stars if I could have.Its in a small northeastern California town that is isolated from the big city by at least 1.5 hours from Reno, NV, and 2.5 hours from Chico, CA. Having it be in a rural setting helped me to focus on my studies without big city temptations. The personal attention I received there from my professors and tutors, when I needed them was outstanding, and what I still attribute to my success there. After two years, I successfully graduated with honors with my Associate Degree (86) and transferred to Chico State University. I took advantage of the excellent financial aid package they offerd me with a work-study job on campus working with the same supervisor for the two years I was there. She took a genuine interest in my success and became a close friend. I lived off campus and enjoyed every minute, making lots of good memories to last a life time. One added bonus of living in Susanville is that it boarders the Lassen National Forest which also gives you access to Lassen Volcanic National Park, along with many beautiful lakes and well maintained camp grounds. For me, Lassen College is a well kept secret and a priceless gem in the California Community College system for those who want to focus on their studies and remove themselves from the big city and its distractions.

The dorms are kind of gross no sports teams but unfortunately the the PE teacher for the nonverbal students got me fired and suspended because I threatened to turn her in for pinching her students lost all my As I even took it to board with several upstanding teachers that had my back and were very unhappy with the results I guess you cant mess with tenure I suppose thats what you get with a small school and an egotistical teacher good luck
