Our community was involved in a class action suit that resulted in the replacement of the water pipes in our home. The settlement was at least 50 pages of heavy legalese and we were worried about signing away future rights. Several years later, while working for a non-profit, I was diagnosed with breast cancer during a major change in executive management.
